Sep. 13--The Thunder’s season stretched from late October 2019 to the early days of September 2020 with a four-month break in between.

NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Red Farmer is recovering at home after being hospitalized due to COVID-19, according to WBRC and WVTM of Alabama. Farmer, 87, was selected as a member of the 2021 NASCAR Hall of Fame class earlier this year alongside former drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Mike Stefanik.

Sep. 17--The Kansas City Royals announced that veteran pitcher Danny Duffy will start their series opener on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night.

The Ponca City Lady Cats scored 28 runs Thursday night in winning a doubleheader over Sapulpa at the West Middle School softball field. Ponca City topped the visitors 6-2 in the opener and then busted loose for 22 runs in the nightcap winning 22-8.

Sep. 17--The Sun Belt Conference ruled college football last Saturday.

Sep. 16--NORMAN -- Several OU players this week said that seeing their fellow students not wearing masks or not following the protocols they have to follow isn’t too difficult.

The Ponca City Wildcats have a week off from the 2020 football wars. There will be no game on Friday night.

The Ponca City Lady Cats dropped an extra inning game Tuesday night, losing to Enid 7-5 at the West Middle School field. Enid scored two runs in the ninth inning and held off the Lady Cats in the bottom of the frame.

Team Radio, in conjunction with Ponca City Public Schools, will start accepting nominations for the “Wildcat of the Week” program. Each week a new “Wildcat of the Week” will be selected from the nominations of TEAM Radio listeners and viewers. Each student nominated should follow the ideals of the “Wildcat Way:” Work Ethic, Improvement, Leadership, Discipline, Competition, Attitude, and Teamwork.

CHICAGO - For a while there, it looked as if Big Ten football would produce only one score this fall: 11-3. As in, 11 schools voted to postpone fall sports and three (Ohio State, Nebraska and Iowa) dissented.
